Marc Bischoff was born (1969) in Berlin,
Germany and grew up in Bochum, West- Germany.
He studied music and acting at the "Hochschule für
Musik Detmold" and the Studio TIP Berlin (former masterclass
of the Academia of Fine Arts, GDR) before he started his
career as an actor on stage in theaters of Celle, Zittau,
Dresden, Köln and Berlin in 1993.
In 2000 Marc decided to concentrate on his work in movies
but is still acting on stage from time to time. For example
in the 2008 production of the "Berliner Festspiele"
"Homage a Klaus Nomi" as Klaus Nomi (director
Ulrike Ottinger).
Since 1994 he has played in more than 50 cinema and tv
productions as "Run Lola Run" (Tom Tykwer), Good
Bye Lenin (Wolfgang Becker), "Enemy at the Gates"
(Jean Jaque Annaud), "(T)raumschiff Surprise"
(Michael Bully Herbig), "Alles auf Zucker" (Dany
Levy), "The Pianotuner of Earthquake" (Quay Brothers),
"Taxidermia" (György Palfi) and "Pope
Joan" (Sönke Wortmann).
For his work as an actor he received international awards
like the "Actors Prize of the Hungarian Filmcritics
2007", the "Don Quijote Award 2006", the
Silver Hugo Award", Chicago 2006 and a "Oscar
Nomination" in 2007 for "Taxidermia".
Beside his filmwork he has strong interest in radio drama
and music (he plays Guitar and Cello very well).
He lives in Berlin, Germany and in the south of Norway
at times. Beside German he speaks Norwegian and English.
